Abstract
Objectives: This study was designed to assess the symptoms of OCD patients in Korea and to investigate the relationship of its symptom subgroups with the depression or anxiety level of the patients.

Method: One hundred fourteen OCD patients were assessed by MOCI. The item responses of MOCI were factored by maximum likelihood method and after factors were derived, factor scores were calculated by Anderson-Rubin method. Factor scores
were
regressed on Beck Depression Inventory (BDI) score and Beck Anxiety Inventory (BAI) score to identify relationships between symptom subgroups and scores of depression or anxiety.

Results: Five dimensions of obsessive-compulsive symptoms emerged in the factor analysis; contamination, checking, slowness, perfectionism and rumination. Only perfectionism and rumination factors showed correlations with depression and
anxiety
level.

Conclusion: It is necessary to regard OCD as combinations of symptom subgroups and this must be considered when evaluating lots of OCD research or planning new OCD research.
